This was a unique opportunity to put a fun and comical spin on the serious subject of food safety.

Humor is a great technique to help viewers remember subject mater that is usually quite dry and boring. The solution came from Disney's instructional cartoons of the 1950's, which depicted a clumsy and slapstick anthropomorphic dog aptly named Goofy, who would fumble, trip and twist his way to achieving memorable ways to golf, dance and get rich quick, to name a few.

The result was a series of cartoons which successfully surprise us with quirky reactions from our bungling, over weight chef. Some times he gets it right, many times he reminds us of what not to do, but the majority of the time he makes us laugh. So he's hard to forget, which is the point of the exercise in the first place after all.
